NORGE — The region’s inventory of affordable homes will soon increase with the opening of a 119-unit apartment community in Norge.
Norfolk-based S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. is in the final stages of developing 2 Rivers Apartment Homes, a project known as Blaine Landing during its construction.
The apartment community consists of 18 one-bedroom, one-bathroom units; 77 two-bedroom, two-bathroom units; and 24 three-bedroom, two-bathroom units, according to S.L. Nusbaum Vice President Susan Childress. The development also includes a clubhouse, fitness center and community room.
The rentals will be geared toward accommodating families and individuals with an average income of 60% of the area median income, or AMI. The 2023 AMI for James City County for a family of four was $100,500, according to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
