LS GreenLink U.S.A. Acquires 96.62 Acres in Chesapeake for Nation’s Largest Subsea Cable Manufacturing Facility

NORFOLK, VA (March 2025) – S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. is pleased to announce LS GreenLink U.S.A., Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary of LS Cable System Ltd., has purchased 96.62 acres of land located at 1213 Victory Boulevard in Chesapeake, VA from International Bio-Energy Virginia Real Estate, LLC for undisclosed amount. Sam Rapoport with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. and Peter Belisle with Belcon Advisors provided Buyer Advisory services in the acquisition.

The site has been designated for the construction of Virginia’s tallest building, slated to break ground in April 2025 and is expected to be fully operational by the first quarter of 2028.

The new $680 million development will house a subsea cable factory for LS GreenLink USA, a crucial part of the state’s offshore wind energy projects and produce high-voltage submarine power cables. According to Patrick Y. Shim, Managing Director of LS GreenLink, “these cables are integral to the global supply chain for offshore wind farms and designed to optimize bulk clean-power transmission. This operation will create hundreds of professional and production positions and help bring advanced manufacturing capabilities to support the clean technology industry in Virginia.”

The facility will have significant implications for local economic growth and renewable energy initiatives.
