In this role, Michael will oversee the operation of the Norfolk Retail Leasing Department and, in addition, coordinate the Company’s retail brokerage support. Gurley is also responsible for marketing the shopping center division at local, regional, and national trade shows and conventions.
With S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. for 30 years, Gurley has helped to develop eight shopping centers. He has been a real estate consultant for Hair Cuttery, was a preferred developer for Rite Aid Drug Stores and has been a tenant representative for Fashion Bug, Weight Watchers, AutoNation, Computer City, Karen Eagle Bridal, Logan’s Roadhouse, Salad Creations and Quizno’s.
Michael is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Hampton Roads Realtors Association, Virginia Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, Retail Task Force Downtown Norfolk Council and Granby Street Initiative.
In addition, Michael is a member of the ICSC 2010 Virginia Idea Exchange Program Planning Committee and heads up the ICSC Virginia Next Generation Program. He formerly held positions in the ICSC of Virginia State Operations Chairman and Committee Member, Virginia Idea Exchange Program Planning Committee Co- Chairman, Virginia State Retail Chairman, and Southern Virginia State Director.
