In this role, Read will oversee brokerage, business development and administrative services of the Richmond office. He serves as the office’s Principal Broker and will manage all day‐to‐day operations.
For more than a quarter century, S.L. Nusbaum’s Richmond office has been an active retail real estate developer. SLN has developed many grocery‐anchored centers and has had ownership in other successful retail centers, including Gayton Crossing, Virginia Center Marketplace, Pocono Crossing, Chesterfield Meadows, Sycamore Square, Harbor Pointe, WestPark and Huguenot Village.
Read has over two decades of both brokerage and commercial development experience throughout Central Virginia.
Prior to his association with S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co., Read was President of Goode Land Company, where he established and managed a commercial land development firm that had acquired and developed eight tracts of raw land totaling fifty acres into retail and office destinations, in addition to multiple third‐party fee development and brokerage accounts. He developed Twin Hickory Town Center, Creighton Crossing, Alverser Plaza, Midlothian Village Square, Jefferson Green, Woodlake Center and many other single tenant properties.
After graduating from St. Christopher’s School, Read then went on to graduate of from Hampden‐Sydney College with a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Economics.
