S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. Facilitates Sale of ±11.589 AC Mixed-Use Development Site in Chesapeake, VA

CHESAPEAKE, VA (January 2026) – S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. is pleased to announce the successful sale of a ±11.589 Acre development site located at 900 N. Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake, Virginia, marking a significant advancement toward the delivery of a major new mixed-use project along the Battlefield Boulevard corridor.

Thornton Development, in partnership with Cape Fear Development, acquired the site for $5,100,000, with the transaction closing on November 25, 2025. John J. Wessling, Sr., CCIM, Senior Vice President, represented the buyer in the acquisition.

The completion of this transaction follows a comprehensive rezoning and site plan approval process within one of Chesapeake’s most competitive development submarkets. Construction has now commenced on 215 luxury apartments. The project’s commercial component will be a notable feature of the development – approximately 20,000 square feet of medical or professional office condominium space, which is now available for acquisition.
